The Race That Changed Ford—and Inspired a Kitchen

The 1966 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the most important races in Ford history. A trio of brutally quick Ford GT40s crossed the finish line 1-2-3, trampling favorite Ferrari in the world’s most prestigious endurance race. The historic win not only made racing history — it remade Ford as a performance-car company.

Le Mans Kitchen, located in the heart of Sarasota Ford and curated exclusively for our customers, was born from the revolutionary spirit that made an implausible win a reality. Le Mans Kitchen breaks the rules on what is expected from a car dealership. The room is built to feel like a French café on the streets of Le Mans: wood, cobalt, artisan light, and a breakfast bar that invites you to stay.

The name and décor are inspired by the legendary race, which gave Ford its first overall win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966 and consecutive wins in 1967, 1968, and 1969. The chef-created menu pays homage to the race venue by featuring French-inspired cuisine with a local twist. Everything is made from scratch, sustainably sourced and fresh.
